The Currituck County Rural Center (CCRC) is located on 105 acres in Powells Point. Popular activities and amenities currently available to the public at the CCRC include:

• Equestrian indoor and outdoor riding rings
• 2 outdoor lighted horse arenas (300' x 150')
• 1 covered horse arena (200' x 100')
• 30 permanent horse stalls
• Dressage arena
• Access to the sound for kayaks and canoes
• Fishing in two ponds
• Disc golf baskets
• Playground equipment
• Picnic pavilions
• Boardwalk
• 21 RV sites
