August 9th, 2017

The Currituck County Department of Travel and Tourism is pleased to announce the rescheduled Festival of Fireworks, which will take place on August 9, 2017. This is a free event for both visitors and residents. The fireworks show will be viewable from multiple locations on both the Currituck Mainland and Currituck Outer Banks.  Historic Corolla Park in Corolla and Sound Park on the mainland are great places to view the fireworks.  The restrooms at Sound Park will remain open during the event.   The spectacular show will begin at dusk.  Bring your chairs, blankets and loved ones to sit back, relax and enjoy the show!

** Historic Corolla Park will be filled with events on the 9th of August as the weekly  Whalehead Wednesday wine and beer tasting event starts at 3pm with local live music until 7pm.  There will be food vendors on site selling yummy concessions.  The weekly cornhole tournament will also be taking place.  Sign ups for the Cornhole Tournament begin at 3pm and the tournament will start at 4pm.  Please note that there is a fee for the Whalehead Wednesday event and the Cornhole Tournament.

The fireworks show is free and open to everyone… it will take place at dusk.  Bring your family and your blanket or chairs and enjoy an evening in the park.
